Discover Your Passion
By Diane on Jun 23, 2010 in Marketing Training

If you’re not sure what your passions are or what your purpose might be, I’m here today to help you…
To most effectively do this exercise, you will need to have about 20-30 minutes of quiet time to devote to it.
If you don’t have a quiet or relaxed atmosphere, please save this to a safe place and come back to it
when you have the time to really focus…
OK, I would first like for you to take a few moments, sit still with your eyes closed, and feel into the pit of
your stomach. Get centered on YOU. Clear your mind as much as you can and start remembering
a happiest, most exilerating time in your life. It could be the day you shot the winning basket on your high
school basket ball team. It could be the day you graduated. It could be the day your first child was born.
What ever it is, think about it and think about how you felt at that very moment. Feel that moment in the
pit of your stomach and remember that feeling. That is the feeling you will have when you realize your
passion. I’m not saying that what it is you remember is your passion, Or maybe it is??? I am asking you to
relate to that feeling. The feeling of accomplishment and joy, pure elation. While you are sitting with your eyes
closed, try to go back to your childhood when everything was simple, when you didn’t over-analyze or
over-think things.
Then, take out a piece of paper and begin writing down your dreams…They could be as simple as having
pink fuzzy slippers on your feet or as huge as being the president of the United States. It doesn’t even
matter if your dream is possible at this point or not, just dream big.
Here are some questions you could ask yourself if you are struggling:
*What do I love doing the most?
*What do I love learning about?
*What do I get most excited about doing or sharing?
*Where do I want to live?
*What kind of car would I drive?
*If money were no object, what would I do with myself everyday?
*What do my friends tell me I am good at?
*What is one thing I think I am good at?
Once you’ve spent some time writing down your answers, take a look at your notepad and see if there are any
common ideas or themes there…Is there something that pops out at you, or something that seems to be
there over and over? You may just be on to something…If not, DON’T WORRY, it will come to you when
the time is right. If you don’t succeed in identifying what your passion is the first time, you may need to do it
again. Eventually a pattern will develope and you will know that feeling in the pit of your stomach I was talking
about.
In my next newsletter, I am going to take this a step further and show you how to find balance in your life.
We need balance in our lives to feel comfortable and at ease within our own bodies. Finding this comfort
and balance opens up the whole new posibility that what ever we can believe we can achieve.
If you havn’t already done so, please sign up on the right to recieve my newsletter updates…
